Most of the technology in a small business is installed by four different companies who never speak to each other. The cabling contractor leaves, the internet provider sends a technician who plugs in a router, the camera company mounts cameras on whatever WiFi is there, and the phone vendor ships handsets in a box. When something breaks, everyone points at someone else, and the owner spends an afternoon on hold finding out whose problem it is.
We started NextPhase Labs to be the one contractor for all of it. On a build-out we design the network first, coordinate with the internet provider, run and label the cabling, place the access points, mount the cameras, fit the readers, deploy the workstations and set up the phones. On a service call we look at the whole picture, because the fault is usually in the layer underneath the thing that appears to be broken. Either way there is one number, and the person who answers it has been in your building.

- Most commercial buildings in the city want a certificate of insurance on file before a contractor works on site. We provide one, naming the building or the management company as required, before the first day.
- The survey and the quote are free
- We walk the space, look at what is there, and tell you what is healthy and what is not. Then we quote the work. If what you have will do the job with a configuration change, we say so.
- Labeled, tested, documented
- Every cable run is labeled at both ends and tested. Your network, credentials and equipment inventory are written down and handed to you, so you are never held hostage by what one person happens to know. That includes us.
- Work scheduled around yours
- Cable pulls and drilling happen outside your hours: before opening for a store or a restaurant, around appointments for a clinic. We coordinate access, freight and building rules with your super or management.
- Honest about scope
- Everything on this site is work we do ourselves. If something you need falls outside it, we tell you rather than learn on your project.
The equipment
Most of what we install is Ubiquiti UniFi: the switches, the access points, the cameras, the door readers and on some jobs the phones. We use it because it gives a building one console for everything, because there are no per-camera or per-door license fees to surprise you on month four, and because we know it well enough to fix it quickly and support it remotely. The photographs on this site are UniFi equipment on real jobs.
It is a preference, not a rule. Equipment that works stays. Equipment that is failing with no documentation gets an honest assessment rather than a bill to keep it alive. For cabling we run Cat6 or Cat6A depending on distance and what you expect to put through it, and we will tell you which applies.
