Low-voltage & IT contractor · New York City

Networks, cameras, phones and doors. Installed properly, labeled, and supported after.

We design, wire and install the systems a business runs on, for offices, clinics, restaurants, stores and homes across the five boroughs. When something needs adjusting later, the person who answers the phone is the person who installed it.

A network rack with a managed switch and two patch panels. Black patch cables loop from the switch to labeled ports; the front-desk runs are hand-labeled FD1 through FD5.

A physical therapy clinic in Sheepshead Bay, from empty space to open

The practice took a raw space and needed everything a clinic runs on, installed in the right order, by the day the first patient walked in. We designed the network, got the internet circuit in and tested before anything depended on it, ran and labeled the cabling, put access points on the ceiling, deployed the workstations and phones, mounted the cameras and put a reader on the staff door.

One contractor for the whole stack, so nothing fell between trades. When something needed adjusting after opening there was one number to call, and the person who answered had installed it.

How a job runs

The same four steps whether it is one access point or a whole floor.

  1. We walk the spaceLayout, construction, where the service comes in, what is already there and what is failing. A pre-war building with plaster and wire lath is not an open-plan new build, and the equipment goes where the building says it should.
  2. We tell you what to keepPart of the walk is saying what is worth keeping. We would rather reconfigure equipment that works than sell you a replacement for it, and we say so in the quote.
  3. We install around your hoursCable runs are the noisy part and they get scheduled deliberately: before opening for a restaurant or a store, around patients for a clinic. A certificate of insurance goes to the building first, and we work with your super and management on access and freight.
  4. We test, label, document and hand overEvery run tested, every port labeled, the configuration written down and handed to you rather than kept in someone’s head. Then we show you how to use what was installed, before you need to under pressure.

Who we work with

Small and mid-sized businesses across New York City: offices, medical and dental practices, physical therapy clinics, restaurants, retail stores and showrooms, schools and warehouses. Places that have more equipment than anyone has time to look after, and where a network problem shows up as payments timing out at the counter or a patient waiting while the front desk reboots something.

We also do homes. Apartments, brownstones, co-ops and houses get the same equipment and the same approach as the commercial work, sized for a home rather than a clinic. More on residential work.

Some clients bring us in to take over their technology entirely. Others keep an internal person and use us for the infrastructure, the after-hours coverage and the vendor calls nobody wants. Either way works.

The equipment we install

Most of what we install is Ubiquiti UniFi: the switches, the access points, the cameras, the door readers and, increasingly, the phones. One console for the whole building, no per-camera or per-door license fees, and a platform we know well enough to fix quickly and support remotely. The photographs on this site are UniFi equipment, on real jobs.

That is a preference, not a rule. If you have equipment that works, the survey will say so and we will build around it. If you have equipment that is failing with no documentation, we will tell you that honestly rather than bill you to keep it alive.

Cabling is Cat6 or Cat6A depending on distance and what you expect to run over it. We tell you which applies rather than defaulting to the more expensive one.
